The McNeish research lab takes an interdisciplinary approach that spans multiple ecological scales and identifies ecosystem connections across the terrestrial-aquatic gradient. We employ the concepts of ecosystem, functional, invasion, and community ecology to understand how alterations in terrestrial systems transform aquatic habitat complexity, ecosystem processes, and patterns of biodiversity. Our goal is for the science that we engage in to benefit environmental and human well-being while contributing to our understanding of basic ecological patterns.
